ZINES: Zines are what started me on my book arts journey. In 2020, I collaborated with folks on zine printing and distro. After discovering how important zines are in the histories of marginalized communities, especially queer communities, I was hooked. I learned about MCBA while researching zines and soon registered for my first class.

NON-ADHESIVE BINDINGS: I’m very drawn to bindings that use no (or very little) adhesive. There’s something really elegant in their simplicity, the way the book is stripped down to its most elemental parts.

ADHESIVE BINDINGS (AND ENCLOSURES): Not using adhesive can only get one so far, though. Using adhesive opens up a world of options for different book structures and enclosures to put them in.
